sieben8 events
sieben8 events in Cologne plans and produces events for brands, from corporate dos to live shows, and has its own venue in the Wachsfabrik. We turned the name into a symbol with an S and an eight hidden inside. Plus a system equal to any room, from the business card to the stage.

If you stage evenings for other brands, people judge you by your own. Until now, you read sieben8 with your head tilted, while the eight stood next to it and waited.
The brief: a brand that carries a stage as well as a proposal to a multinational. And still looks this good next season.
- 01 / 04Two halves, two directions. You read the old logo with your head tilted, while a chunky numeral stood beside it. Likeable, but not yet a couple.
- 02 / 04First read, then recognise. The name turns to face the reader and becomes the brand’s lettering: wide, bold capitals made for stage, banner and screen.
- 03 / 04Numeral and letter become one mark. The eight turns round and open, and an S appears inside it. The whole name now fits into a single mark.
- 04 / 04The name, spelled out. The numeral becomes the word ACHT, exactly as wide as SIEBEN, with events below. So everyone can read the name, even those who have yet to meet the symbol.
An eight drawn in a single stroke of even weight all the way round. Where the loops would normally cross, two diagonals cut through the waist, and suddenly there is an S. Sieben and acht, seven and eight, in one glance.
Every curve follows a rule. You don’t see it, you feel it: the mark stays calm, on a business card or across an entire letterhead.
- 01 / 04Narrower on top, so it stands. Two circles build the eight, and the upper one is 8% narrower. So it rests on its foundation instead of looking top-heavy.
- 02 / 04One stroke for everything. All the way round, the stroke measures between 7.34 and 7.42. No spot pushes forward, and the mark stays as relaxed on a business card as on a poster.
- 03 / 04The waist cuts at an angle. Where the loops would normally cross, two parallel diagonals run at 34°. Measured across, they are exactly as heavy as the loop. The stroke never breaks.
- 04 / 04Inside stands the S. The eight is the shape, the S the space inside. Both halves of the name, not a single extra letter.
Not every space is cut the same. So the brand comes classic, wide, tall and solo. It adapts to every space and bends for none.
- 01 / 05The standard version comes first. Symbol on the left, name on the right in three lines. The clear space is measured with the logo itself. The ruler can stay in the drawer.
- 02 / 05Wide for flat strips. SIEBEN and ACHT move onto one line, events below. Made for banners, bars and headers, anywhere height is in short supply.
- 03 / 05Tall for narrow columns. The name lines up beneath the symbol. That way the brand fits on pull-up banners, in sidebars and anywhere things get tight.
- 04 / 05Solo when the sender is clear. The symbol on its own belongs to sieben8 itself: its own channels, social media, branding. Wherever sponsors have a say, the name always comes along.
- 05 / 05Four versions, one drawing. The same parts in four arrangements. Nothing squashed, nothing redrawn, and still the brand fits every gap.
White paper, black stage, a photo from the night: every background has its version. Contrast decides, not taste.
Every version sits ready in the drawer. Nobody rebuilds anything.
- 01 / 05Light or dark, the colour stays. The symbol keeps its colour, only the lettering switches. That is all the change it takes.
- 02 / 05On its own colour, things swap. When the brand stands on its own green, the lines swap roles. The rhythm of the logo carries on as if nothing had happened.
- 03 / 05On photos, only contrast counts. On images and busy backgrounds, the logo appears in a single colour. It is always legible.
- 04 / 05The shape is not up for negotiation. Squashed, spun round, with a shadow: what happens at every good party never happens to this logo.
- 05 / 05Nor is the colour. No foreign shades, no logo in pieces. That is how you spot sieben8 at first glance, on a poster or in the feed.
A green you recognise on stage as readily as in a spreadsheet. With its tints, it covers every surface. Nobody here needs a second favourite colour.
The display face comes in four widths. The widest is called Ultra Extended and behaves accordingly. Loud for the stage, quiet for the small print.

On large surfaces, the stroke of the symbol splits into three lines. Sometimes the visual stands on its own, sometimes it lies over a photo, sometimes it becomes a window the evening shines through. Every event brings its own mood. You still know who is hosting.
- 01 / 04One line becomes three. For the visual, the stroke of the symbol splits into three lines. The outline stays, and the mark becomes a pattern that fills entire walls.
- 02 / 04The picture joins in. Laid over a photo, the lines tint the subject. The visual sets the beat, the picture the mood.
- 03 / 04The picture in the line. As a mask, the three lines show only the photo behind them. The colour of the evening becomes the colour of the brand.
- 04 / 04The person in the eight. The whole eight becomes a frame, with the person right in the middle. Every event gets its own face, and all of them carry the same name.
The visual never has to be seen in full. It runs off edges, turns on its side, sinks into its own colour. Poster, card and cover each take the best slice.
- 01 / 04One mark, many crops. The visual wants to be cropped. One loop and a diagonal are enough, and everyone knows who is hosting.
- 02 / 04The cover takes the right half. On the manual cover, the visual runs off the right-hand edge, leaving room on the left for logo and title. Calm and movement on one page.
- 03 / 04The poster cuts straight through. In portrait, the eight runs over the edge. The eye fills in what is missing, and that is exactly what makes people curious.
- 04 / 04Tone on tone. On its own colour, the lines turn into relief. The brand whispers, and you still hear it straight away.

It all starts with the logo. Once it sits right, the rest of the page falls into place.
From A6 to A3, the grid grows with the paper. Whoever lays out a page only has to think about what goes on it.
- 01 / 04The clear space becomes the top margin. The logo sits top right with its clear space, and that very clear space sets the head of the page. Place the logo correctly and the layout has already begun.
- 02 / 04Six columns, two for the logo. Below it, the page splits into six columns, and the logo is exactly two of them wide. Text, image and brand interlock.
- 03 / 04The measurements grow with the format. From A6 to A3, the margins grow in step with the A sizes. The grid grows with the paper it sits on.
- 04 / 04Mirrored when the top is taken. If the top needs an image or a headline, the logo moves to the bottom right. Same measurements, different direction.
The photos spread out freely: big, small, landscape, portrait. Only the gaps are the same everywhere. It looks like a party and is still perfectly tidy.

Letterhead, envelope, card: the logo sits on the front wherever the grid wants it, and the backs belong to the visual. Even the coffee mug speaks fluent sieben8.

Website, presentations and Instagram use the visual as a frame for photos. Big on a monitor, slim on a phone, always the same mark. On its own profile the symbol appears alone. No introductions needed there.

On the title slide, a photo of the event fills the eight, with the title beside it, once solid, once in outline only. One host, endless occasions.

A 30-page brand manual, from construction to dos and don’ts, plus every logo in every version. Whoever builds a banner for sieben8 tomorrow already has everything today.
